He's very attentive in everyone's needs and accomodating on any requests whenever possible. We have been provided with all the updates and informations needed. We travelled with Joel to Switzerland and Paris on 15 June and the trip was wonderful! Joel’s attention to details made everything worked like clockwork. During long bus journey, he would kept us entertained by sharing the city’s history and also some interesting experience he had when leading a tour. On our free days, he would check in with us to be sure that we are doing all right. He went beyond his duty to help us with our luggages which was important for me as I was traveling with a child. The local tour guides and driver were all friendly and helpful. Overall, the itinerary were well planned and well paced. Meals provided were good but would be great if we can have options to select our main course. Tour: 13D Spain and Portugal trip in 2022 June Tour leader Meiling is very sincere, responsible and helpful from meeting us to saying goodbye at Changi Airport. She took care of us by ensuring that we have drinking water and food on days we had late dinner or a packed itinerary. She also declined an offer by a local guide to take group photo with us as we would not have a short free time if we did so as the group members were too scattered. This shows that she really have our interest in mind and not for publicity sake. Meiling also volunteers to help us take personal photos, brought the group out to city centre via metro on free days, bought Portuguese egg tarts for the group to free us up for using the toilets, allowed us to stop at photogenic spots such as Art Science museum to use toilet and to meet local guide etc. Meiling is the best tour leader we have met so far and we are regulars at Super Travels. Thankful to have Tour Leader Jax Zhang trying his best to assist and very patiently too. It is reassuring when you travel alone to know there is someone nearby you can reach out to anytime for advice or in need of assistance. Appreciate it very much. The travel package programme was to me a good balance between a guided tour as well as personal time. If you like having the convenience of a tour group while still having your own time to move around exploring on your own then this package would be ideal. She took great care of everyone especially the elderly. She was always standing behind the group making sure no one was left behind. She always try her best to accede to all our requests and we really feel comfortable with her around us. I would like to compliment her on one incident when I’m sick during one of the night. She and our tour guide Caner took me to a few hospitals to sought treatment which was really nice. Caner is very knowledgeable and professional. Our SG Tour Manager, Linda Pan was extremely helpful and kind, she went out of her way to assist with any questions and concerns we may have, she was also generous and shared tips to improve our trip experience. The salesperson who attended to us, Danny was also helpful in replying to our queries even when they were directed to him outside office hours. The covid situation can be better managed, to be frank, we were disappointed with how this was handled. We hope Super Travels can strive to be more flexible and updated with regulations with regards of entry requirements. $60USD for a simple swap test is unreasonable, we know how much it actually cost to do so in Turkey and how badly the people there are trying to take advantage of the situations. Guideline mentioned that visitors has to wear masks in public places, but these were not enforced due to “freedom”, which does put people like us in danger. My career involves in taking care of lives and it does not allow any chances of us being sick. In fact, Aras our Turkish guide was disrespectful of the covid precautions, asking us to all stop wearing masks as everyone would eventually get it if one is infected. Although Hotels were 5 Stars, we did not enjoy some of the hotels selected, some were dirty and others had bad services with substandard rooms. Out of all the hotels, Bolu Koru Hotels Spa & Convention and Kolin Hotel were the better ones. At Clarion Hotel Golden Horn, constructions lasted till 3am which caused us to stay awake the whole night. Aras, Turkish guide from Look Vacations was knowledgeable with history, itinerary planning and food was great. Unfortunately, there were too much problems arising with his attitude towards pride and being profit oriented. First, he was late for 3 hours, he blamed it all on the flight which we can understand, however he was not apologetic about making us wait. In fact, he emphasized that there was no point blaming him. Everyone was tired and frustrated from the 11 hours flight, it was only after some of us spoke up which he then changed his attitude and apologized, but only for a moment. Next, he mentioned about asking him any questions or problems that we may have, but always end up being short tempered and reluctant to help. Aras was unaccommodating towards questions related to planning and questions regarding our concerns. As a foreigner, we were sometimes taken aback towards some of his response. One example, he mentioned about doing a PCR test, in which my wife and I were sold from Super Travels that it was ART test and not PCR, hence we kindly approached Aras for the first time to clarify. He had a short temper, frowned, sighed and laughed at us, in which he replied in his on words, “It is not my fault and not my country’s problem, it is your country so you should ask your country, not me. You can do ART test if you like but if you can’t go back to Singapore, it’s not my fault, okay?”. There were no attempts to assist further, nor follow ups, we didn’t sense any empathy from him. Another instance on questioning Aras, we were supposed to have a last minute shopping at the grand bazaar on the last day, but he arranged for us to leave at 9am straight from the hotel to airport. One of the group members asked about probability of departure timing being too early on the date of flight, Aras as expected frowned, sighed and laughed like he always does. Instead of explaining the reason for doing so, he told everyone that he is the main guide, he is the one who decides itinerary, not us. He emphasized that he has 15 years experience, so there is no need to question his plans. He may be experienced, but having a short temper is not a good trait of a guide even though he tries not to show them. Isn’t he paid to answer questions? I have a recording of a part of his speech. In terms of shopping, Aras brought us to a number of mandatory shopping locations, which upon check were tourist traps, mainly zultanite, illegal branded goods, leather jackets, carpets, snacks souvenirs that were way overpriced with 2-4 times the price of shops in public, as well as salesmen that were extremely pushy and caused us to be uncomfortable. We were locked in a space in nowhere and most did not allow us to leave without listening to the mandatory pitch. Some who had made purchase had regrets after learning the truth, we learnt about this during our conversations and walking around the street to find the same items with at least half the price tag, the so called certificates were invalid upon check, it was just a printed paper about lab produced stones. The 6 mandatory shopping locations took up to 8 hours of our trip, which could have been used for rest or other leisures. Whenever we hear Aras telling us how precious the next shopping trip is going to be, we knew that he was a part of the trap, he simply spent too much time advertising those products in my opinion. Most of the information shared were untrue upon checking. I’ve also seen him speaking to those salesperson to inform them about who to target, it was very uncomfortable knowing that a guide was supposed to help us save money was involved in the scam. For instance, he mentioned that grand bazaar sold overpriced products, but upon checking in person they were much cheaper than the places he brought us to. Back to the ART test, which the government announced on 1 April that everyone can do virtual ART test upon departure, Aras was extremely reluctant to let us follow through with the new regulations. I understand that Super Travels was worried for our safety, however Aras wasn’t, he was worried about losing 2 x $60USD, as well as other visitors that may follow suit can cause him to lose profits. It was easy for him to find out the right information, because after a lot of self checks and calls to turkey embassy, MFA and clinics, which they all said that we may be unnecessarily pressured by the turkey guide, Aras then told me that we simply needed to call Singapore airlines in turkey to get an accurate answer. And bear in mind, this was after a lot of persuasion from him plus all the stress from our end doing the pointless calls and checks. He used scare tactics multiple times on us, even during our 15 minutes Virtual ART test with the clinic, he asked us again to consider doing it with him or we may not go back to Singapore, which we rejected. Thereafter, he whispered to me to ask the cost of our test, after learning that it was just $9-$25SGD, he made a sigh, rolled his eye and walked away. Overall we enjoyed the trip, the itinerary and sight seeing was nice and much better than we expected, Turkey is definitely a nice place for a trip. I just wanted to share my feedback so that the company can better understand about what people look for in terms of travels these days, we are no longer living in times where people are incapable of finding out the truth about what they are paying for. SG Tour leader: Linda Pan Turkey Tour Guide: Aras (Look vacation) Recommend this agency only because of our tour leader Linda Pan. Despite being her first time handling Turkey group, she was able to help us with problems and concerns regardless of language barrier. She was very caring and thoughtful throughout the whole trip, kept asking the group whether they needed help to take photos and would remind us to use toilets before long bus rides. My husband and I travelled quite frequently before covid-19, and this is our first time encountering such kind tour leader. We were very impressed by her. On the other hand, the Turkish tour guide Aras was disappointing. Have to admit that he is really knowledgeable about his country’s culture and history, but he wasn’t as helpful nor as thoughtful. Despite the fact that he was late for 3 hours during our first tour day (mind you we just had an 11-hour flight from SG and everyone was standing at the airport waiting for him to arrive, yes we had no place to sit or rest), and finally he arrived after the long and exhausted 3 hours wait. He wasn’t apologetic, he kept emphasizing his flight got delayed and wasn’t his fault. Even though we checked his plane should arrived at 10:05am, he only managed to reach us at 10:45am. We questioned him why took him 40mins to come out of the arrival hall and he just gave us a cold answer saying it’s a long airport and he’s tired. So our 11 hours flight + 3 hours of standing like a fool is not tiring? First day was exhausting but the places that he took us to were interesting and unique so we tried to enjoy instead of focusing on his attitude. Almost reaching the end of our first day tour, he asked whether we had any question to ask him regarding about Turkey so my husband used this chance to ask him about the ART test which i was very concerned with. I booked Turkey tour because the sales person (Danny) of Super Travels told me that we just needed to do ART test before going back to SG and because i’m really afraid of PCR test, so i wanted to make sure it’s ART test. He asked us whether we had any question for him so we did, we asked him about this and he told us it’s going to be PCR. We were shocked and we confirmed with him again that Super Travels told us it was ART. He just snorted and laughed at us, saying it’s not going to be his fault if SQ don’t allow us to board the plane back to SG. Yes, what a nice attitude he got. Turkey is uniquely charming, love the sightseeings and food specialities that they brought. Even their optional activities were worth every cent. BUT not the shoppings, as people call it Tourist Traps. Aras brought us to a total of 6 tourist traps, each spending 1-2 hours doing pointless shopping. Every trap is overpriced compared to normal shop but they advertised as highly discounted price, hello it’s 2022 now just a simple google will know the truth. Just google every so called “brand” name and you will see so many bad reviews. Unregistered branded goods (LV, chanel, Gucci) even though they are “illegal branded goods” the prices were way over. As well as overpriced carpet, leather jackets and etc. We even saw Aras trying to point and tell the sales person to target certain person because he knew that person was a big spender. What a greedy act. Not sure how he was as a tour guide before covid but he certainly is very money-minded now. Everything he introduced to us to buy or try is overpriced compared to other shops. That is the most disappointing part to us as we couldn’t trust him at all. We enjoyed Turkey a lot as their sceneries, cultures, histories were really amazing and of course we had a wonderful tour leader Linda. Aras was a let down because of his short temper and attitude. Not only he was unhelpful to tour members, he even bullied Linda and laughed at her English. A few places that we went, he left everything to Linda and he was nowhere to be seen. The night of watching belly dance, Aras ended his job early on his own and left everything to Linda who didn’t know a single word of Turkish. Super Travels should do something about it, seriously. One day before the pre-departure test, Aras came and scared us regarding the ART test again. He insisted we needed to pay him USD 60 x2 for his PCR test in order to leave Turkey and back to SG. We checked with Super Travels as we knew that from 01 Apr onwards Sgreans could do virtual ART test for their pre-departure but Super Travels wasn’t up to date to advise us (another disappointment). We made calls to Turkey embassy and SG 24hr virtual test clinic to confirm that it can be done, they were very very helpful despite the timezone being -5. When we called them it was already 3am singapore time. On the day to do the pre-departure test, Aras “threatened” us again, he or Super Travels told Linda to write a IOU to make sure that we cannot blame Super Travels or him if we can’t board the plane back to SG because we didn’t follow them to do their USD 60 x2 PCR test. We were firm to continue with our virtual test as we knew that he was afraid of losing his USD 60 x2. Their Turkey embassy was also shocked when he heard the cost of his PCR test. Our virtual test only cost SGD 25 (we chose the expensive ones as we needed a 24 hr online clinic) The cheapest one is only SGD 9. We were at the corner of a room while others were taking PCR, their tests were so fast that they left us behind after the first 10 mins. We were slower as we needed to wait for 15 mins to get the test kit result. Linda was kind enough to wait with us thru the whole process even though we told her to go grab her lunch first. She insisted to stay with us as it’s really weird to leave us 2 behind in a strange room. After we took our virtual test, Aras came and asked my husband how much did we pay for our test, we honestly told him SGD 25, he frowned and made a face. Guess he just lost his USD 120 and wasn’t happy about it. Last day before heading to airport, there was a 4-5 hr gap, some members found it too early to go to the airport so tried to negotiate with him about the timing but i guess Aras wanted to end his job as fast as he could, so he laughed and said he had 15 years experience of being a tour guide he knew about Turkey works. In the end, he made us check out hotel at 9am (usually our tour departure time was at 7:30am). After leaving our hotel, we reached the airport in one hour and he was gone, leaving us at the airport 3.5 hr before departure. Overall, we will still travel with Super Travels and hope that we will meet Linda as our Tour leader again. Travel on vtl to Germany for a 13n/10day romantic tour…Germany was not as wat we saw the reports on news with many case n possible lockdown..Situation there from wat i see is fine but we just need to bring along our vaccinations certificate n need to do ART almost daily as some place might require it..but sometimes we do liao but nv use it(but our tour leader Danny manage to find free ART testing in some area so tat did save us some money)some hotel is ok except a few is so so only(hope they can improve on getting better hotel)Overall experience is good especially with nice scenery n a good tour leader Danny which is most helpful throughout the whole trip..will definitely join super next time on other trips
