3 Hours Before Flight Time
Assemble at Changi International Airport for your flight to Beijing.
Upon arrival in Beijing, transfer to your connecting flight to Irkutsk. You’ll be met by your tour guide at the airport. After dinner, proceed to your hotel for rest.
After breakfast, visit the Taltsy Wooden Architecture and Ethnographic Museum, an open-air museum featuring over 40 wooden historical buildings that showcase the daily life and culture of the people living along Lake Baikal from the 17th to 20th centuries. You can take photos of the old spinning wheels, high plank beds, and Russian stoves. A special activity is arranged here where you can paint traditional Russian wooden crafts and take them home as souvenirs.
Arrive in Listvyanka and visit the Lake Baikal Museum to learn about the mysterious Lake Baikal and its underwater creatures and minerals. Take a cable car to the top of Chersky Stone, a panoramic viewpoint offering stunning views of Lake Baikal, which is the world’s deepest and largest freshwater lake by volume and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
After Breakfast, go to the train station to ride the Circum-Baikal Railway sightseeing train. The scenery along the way is beautiful, with old tunnels and viaducts blending seamlessly with Lake Baikal. Each stop is carefully selected, offering a mix of natural and cultural landscapes unique to the old Siberian Railway. Enjoy the views from sunrise to sunset on the train. After the train ride, check in to your hotel for rest.
During winter, the program will change to winter activities including: Hovercraft (traversing along Lake Baikal), Dog Sledding, Snowmobile riding, Open Air Fish Market and Russian Troika Cart Riding
After breakfast, travel to Olkhon Island, the largest island in Lake Baikal. En route, visit a Buryat village for a traditional folk culture experience. The local residents believe in the mysterious shamanism. Shamans are believed to have the ability to control the weather, predict the future, interpret dreams, and practice astrology. The Volga River basin and Eastern Siberia are strongholds of shamanism. Experience the hospitality of the locals and taste traditional food. Visit the Buryat Ethnographic Museum.
After breakfast, take a 4WD vehicle to Cape Khoboy, the northernmost point of Olkhon Island. Along the way, pass by Kharantsy, Crocodile Island, Man’s Face Mountain, and Three Brothers Mountain. Explore the stunning blue ice scenery at Cape Khoboy. After lunch, continue exploring the blue ice lake surface. Visit the “Arctic Base” relay station, featuring impressive art installations, where you can take photos and enjoy fun activities like ice golf, ice hockey, and ice bowling. You will also receive a postcard with a Russian stamp.
After breakfast, drive to the Small Sea, exploring icefalls, ice ridges, mirror-like ice surfaces, and ice hummocks along the way. The crystal-clear ice, illuminated by sunlight, creates a magical scene, with intricate patterns of cracks on the ice surface. After lunch, continue exploring the blue ice and have the chance to see bubble lakes. Return to Irkutsk.
After breakfast, tour the city’s historical sites, including the renowned Orthodox Church, Polish Cathedral, City Hall, Victory Square, and the Decembrists’ Cultural Park. Experience the unique culture of Eastern Siberia. Visit the Decembrists’ Museum and stroll along the scenic streets.
After breakfast, you will visit 130th Kvartal, which was the first tea merchants post. This area retained the traditional Russian wooden houses from various eras and styles due to the trade, and transportation needs. Then you will go to Karl Marx Street, filled with vintage and modern cafes, bars, restaurants, supermarkets, cosmeticians, jewelery stores, and other various shops. It is a very lively location, and a great place for touring, shopping, and experiencing Russian culture.
You will also visit the Military History open air museum. This unique military museum, is constructed from abandoned old objects, and war relics. Lastly, there will be free time at a large shopping super market in the city center. Afterwards you will travel to the airport, to end your wonderful trip.
