Day 2MUNICH - FÜSSEN

(Meals on Board / Schnitzel + Apple Strudel Dinner)

Upon arrival, transfer by coach to Fussen where our greatest highlight for the day is the opportunity to enter the famous Neuschwanstein Castle for a visit. This was the inspiration castle for Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty and was originally intended as a personal refuge for the reclusive king Ludwig II of Bavaria, but that which was opened to the public immediately after his death in 1886. Enjoy some free time at leisure for more photo-taking till time to meet again for our dinner.

Day 3FÜSSEN – LICHTENSTEIN CASTLE - METZINGEN - STUTTGART

(Hot buffet breakfast)

After breakfast, travel to Swabian Jura of southern Germany. Here, we visit Lichtenstein Castle, a historic castle from the 19th century. Inspired by the novel “Lichtenstein” by Wilhelm Hauff, the castle was built in 1840-1842 in the neo-Gothic style. The castle grounds include the Gerobau, the chapel, a spacious castle garden and the romantic castle courtyard. In the restored apartments of Count Wilhelm von Württemberg, the opulent splendor of late-Romantic living culture can be seen. Lichtenstein Castle Castle is also known as the “fairytale castle of Württemberg” because it allows the romance to live on in its architectural style and furnishings. So it sees itself as a homage to the Middle Ages. Later, we shall head to the Outletcity Metzingen (** If closed, it will be replaced with other itinerary **) which offers a great range of designer labels at huge discount prices up to 70% depending on seasons, before we retire in Stuttgart.

Day 4STUTTGART - HEIDELBERG

(Hot buffet breakfast / German Sausage+Vanilla Pudding Dinner)

For example, the Ottheinrich Building is one of the earliest palace buildings of the German Renaissance. Adorned with impressive sculptures, Herrensaal (Knights’ Hall) and the Imperial Hall house many of the special exhibitions. Or that Fassbau (wine cellar) from 1590 which houses the biggest wine barrel in the world, Heidelberg Tun, which holds 220,000 liters (58,124 gallons) of wine. Continue on our coach journey to Frankfurt for our dinner and overnight stay.

(Hot buffet breakfast)

This morning, we shall depart Rothenburg as we continue to travel to the medieval city of Harburg via Feuchtwangen. Sitting on the banks of the Wormitz River, Harburg is a pleasant medieval town dominated by an imposing castle. Touted as one of the largest, oldest and most well-preserved castles in the whole of Germany, Schloss Harburg is without question the main attraction in the town and an important landmark on the Romantic Route.

This structure remained indestructible during war and was also the subject of an attempted bud by Michael Jackson in the 1990s. It was founded by the Hohenstaufen Emperors as early as the 1000s and underwent various extensions and reinforcements over the centuries that followed. The building that we see today is mostly from the 1700s but there is a wealth of elements throughout the complex that indicates its real age. Continue to Augsburg thereafter for our overnight stay.
