Your vacation begins with a pleasant flight to Istanbul, the only city built on two continents – Asia and Europe.

Welcome to Istanbul, the largest city of Turkey. Upon arrival, visit Hippodrome (Sultanahmet Square) decorated by obelisks and monument brought in from Egypt. Visit Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmet 1 Mosque), the masterwork of Otoman Turkish architecture and continue to the magnificent St. Sofia Museum, a cathedral under Roman Constantine and a mosque under the Turks. Later, visit Topkapi Palace – a museum palace filled with wide collections of porcelains, treasuries, religious collections and the first Great Imperial Palace of Ottoman Dynasty. Thereafter, transfer to Bolu for our overnight stay.

This morning, journey to Ankara – capital of Turkey. Our Ankara sightseeing highlights include the magnificent Ataturk Mausoleum and Anatolian Civilization Museum. Enroute, drive past picturesque Salt Lake and arrive into Cappadocia for your overnight stay.

This morning, if you are ready for some excitement, you may consider trying out the optional Hot Air Balloon experience before sunrise. Return to the hotel for breakfast and afterwards visit Underground City of Saratli, created during the Byzantine era, and protected locals during major events like the Crusades and Arab raids. Next, do not miss the rare opportunity to experience the beauty and work of local hand-made crafts through a Turkish carpet weaving course. Thereafter, make a visit to Paşabağ Valley, also known as the Valley of the Priests, covers a very large area surrounded by mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys. The valley, which is frequented by many tourists, is one of the regions where the world famous fairy chimneys are the most intense and prominent. Its unique scenery and mystical atmosphere make every person who steps into the fairy-tale land deep in thought. After dinner, transfer to a local Cave House and Avanos where a fascinating Belly Dancing and Folkdance performance awaits.

Today, visit the museum of 13th century Philosopher Melvana Celaleddin-i Rumi, which used to be the cloister for Mevlevi Dervishes. Mevlana was a philosopher and mystic of Islam, but not a Muslim of the orthodox type. His doctrine advocates unlimited tolerance, positive reasoning, goodness, charity and awareness through love. To him and to his disciples all religious are more or less truth. Looking with the same eye on Muslim, Jew and Christian alike, his peaceful and tolerant teaching has appealed to men of all sects and creeds. Enroute, we shall stop by a local Caravansarai for phototaking – an ancient inn used by local traders during the silkroad before continuing to Pamukale for our overnight stay.

We start our day with a visit to the Pamukkale (Cotton Castle) and view the extensive ruins of Hierapolis & Necropolis – known for its thermal baths and health centre. Thereafter, see “Cotton Castle” or Pamukkale’s magical and unique terraces & castles created by deposits of white limestone from thermal springs. Next, travel to Kusadasi and begin the tour with an upbeat fashion show showcasing high quality leather products made in Turkey. Visit the House of Virgin Mary, where she is believed to have spent her last years. Next, we set off for Selcuk and explore Ephesus ancient city, one of the world’s most outstanding archaeological sites. Walk in its well-preserved marble streets to the Library of Celsius, the Odeon, Grand Theatre, Temple of Hadrian, Roman Bath etc.

After hotel breakfast, visit the ancient roman city of Pergamon – famous for the steepest theatre in Turkey and learn about the Trajan Temple, Athena Temple, Agora and Pergamon Palace. Thereafter, transfer to Canakkale via to the infamous tourist attraction in Troy, the Trojan Horse (Picture stop). This is a replica wooden horse that was given to the Trojans by the Greek Army.

After breakfast this morning, we shall continue our drive to Istanbul. Arrive in Istanbul and free at leisure. You may want to consider joining an optional Bosphorous Cruise at your own expense.
