DAY 01 SINGAPORE – ISTANBUL
Your vacation begins with a pleasant flight to Istanbul, the only city built on two continents:- Asia and Europe.
DAY 02 ISTANBUL – CANAKKALE
(Dinner) Upon arrival, visit Hippodrome (Sultanahmet Square) decorated by obelisks and monument brought in from Egypt. Visit Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmet 1 Mosque) is the masterwork of Otoman Turkish architecture. Visit the magnificent St. Sofia Museum, which has been a cathedral under Roman Constantine and a mosque under the Turks. Visit Topkapi Palace – a museum palace filled with wide collections of porcelains, treasuries, religious collections. It is the first Great Imperial Palace of Ottoman Dynasty. After having lunch in Istanbul, we depart to Canakkale, cross Dardanelle by boat for your overnight stay in Canakkale.
DAY 03 CANAKKALE (TROY) – PERGAMON – KUSADASI
After breakfast at the hotel, drive the ancient city of Troy and the infamous tourist attraction in Troy, of course, is the Trojan Horse. This is a replica wooden horse that was given to the Trojans by the Greek Army. Then visit the ancient roman city of Pergamon, famous for the steepest theatre in Turkey, Trajan Temple, Atena Temple, Agora and Pergamon Palace.
DAY 04 KUSADASI – PAMUKKALE
We start our day with an upbeat fashion show showcasing high quality leather products made in Turkey. Visit the House of Virgin Mary, where she is believed to have spent her last years. Next, we set off for Selcuk and explore Ephesus ancient city, one of the world’s most outstanding archaeological sites. Walk in its well-preserved marble streets to the Library of Celsius, the Odeon, Grand Theatre, Temple of Hadrian, Roman Bath etc. After lunch, we depart for Pamukkale (Cotton Castle), visit the extensive ruins of Hierapolis & Necropolis – known for its thermal baths and health centre. Thereafter, see “Cotton Castle” or Pamukkale’s magical and unique terraces & castles created by deposits of white limestone from thermal springs. Enjoy your overnight stay in Pamukkale Thermal Hotel.
DAY 05 PAMUKKALE – KONYA – CAPADOCCIA
Today, visit the museum of 13th century Philosopher Melvana Celaleddin-i Rumi, which used to be the cloister for Mevlevi Dervishes. Mevlana was a philosopher and mystic of Islam, but not a Muslim of the orthodox type. His doctrine advocates unlimited tolerance, positive reasoning, goodness, charity and awareness through love. To him and to his disciples all religious are more or less truth. Looking with the same eye on Muslim, Jew and Christian alike, his peaceful and tolerant teaching has appealed to men of all sects and creeds.
DAY 06 CAPPADOCIA
Early this morning just before your breakfast, if you are ready for some excitement, you may consider trying out the possible optional Hot Air Balloon experience. Then after breakfast at the hotel, visit Underground City of Kaymakli, once a place of refuge for 15,000 Christians, witness their ancient bedrooms, church, meeting hall and food storage rooms all within this eight-storey city connected by 30km of corridors and passageways. Next, do not miss this rare opportunity to experience the beauty and work of local hand-made crafts through a Turkish carpet weaving course. Thereafter, make a visit to the fascinating frescoed rock churches and chapels at Goreme Open-Air Museum, to explore the unusual troglodyte dwellings, remains of the early churches comprising of complicated rooms hollowed out of the cones of volcanic ash and decorated with scratched frescoes. Photo-stops will be made at Uchisar “castle” village, a fantasyland of strange and wonderful works of man and nature. Then, proceed to their local Cave House and Avanos Pottery Village, set on the banks of the Kizilimak (Red River). After dinner, a fascinating Belly Dancing and Folkdance performances awaits you.
DAY 07 CAPPADOCIA – ANKARA – BOLU
This morning, drives pass picturesque Salt Lake and arrive into Ankara – capital of Turkey. Our Ankara sightseeing Highlights include the magnificent Ataturk Mausoleum and visit Anatolian Civilization Museum. Lastly, drive to Bolu for your overnight stay.
DAY 08 BOLU – ISTANBUL
After breakfast, we shall drive back to Istanbul. There, we’ll visit the 500 year-old Grand Bazaar, which has more than 4000 shops selling local products handicrafts.
DAY 09 ISTANBUL – SINGAPORE
Free at leisure till departure transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
DAY 10 SINGAPORE
