This morning, we depart Rome as we continue on our journey to Naples via Pompeii. The city of Pompeii was an ancient Roman town-city near modern Naples in the Italian region of Campania, in the territory of the comune of Pompei. Pompeii, along with Herculaneum and many villas in the surrounding area, was mostly destroyed and buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. You might consider joining an Optional guided tour of the Pompeii Archaeological site at your own expenses. Thereafter, we shall continue to Napoli for for our overnight stay.
This morning, we depart Napoli as we continue on our journey to Capri to embark on an excursion by ferry to the Isle of Capri where we will enjoy a walking tour of Capri Town and Gardens, leaving us some time on our own to explore this lovely island. Thereafter, we transfer back to Rome for our overnight stay.
