Today assemble at Changi Airport and take an international flight to Shanghai and then transit to Urumqi, located on the Silk Road.
After breakfast, you’ll take a coach to Ku’erle, a city full of petroleum. On your mid way, you’ll visit the Dabancheng Wind Power Station, the largest power station of Asia. Then you’ll visit the Lotus Lake , a part of the Bosten Lake which is the largest inland fresh water lake of China.
Today you’ll head to Kuqa, the hometown of dancing and singing. Upon arrival, you’ll visit the Kizil Caves, a set of 236 Buddhist rock-cut caves located near Kizil Township. The caves are said to be the earliest major Buddhist cave complex in East Turkestan, with development occurring between the 3rd and 8th centuries. Although the site has been both damaged and looted, at least 1000 square metres of wall paintings—mostly Jataka stories—remain.
Today you’ll take a coach to the Tianshan Mysterious Grand Canyon which has an elevation of 1,600 meters above sea level while the highest point is 2,048 meters. The canyon is characterized by oddly-shaped rocks, craggy pinnacles, rugged cliffs and deep ravines. The width of the canyon changes due to the terrain. While the broadest point is 53 meter wide, the narrowest place is too narrow for one person to squeeze through sideways. Then you’ll take a coach to visit the Kuqa Temple.
In the morning you’ll head to Minfeng along the longest desert road of the world. You’ll go through the Taklimakan Desert, one of the largest sandy deserts in the world, ranking 15th in size in a ranking of the world’s largest non-polar deserts. It covers an area of 270,000 km2 of the Tarim Basin, 1,000 kilometres long and 400 kilometres wide. Then you’ll visit the Tarim Bridge and watch the magic Hu Yang tree.
After breakfast, you’ll head to Hetian, located at the junction of the southern (and most ancient) branch of the famous “Silk Route” joining China and the West with one of the main routes from ancient India and Tibet to Central Asia and distant China. It provided a convenient meeting place where not only goods, but technologies, philosophies, and religions were transmitted from one culture to another. Upon arrival, you’ll visit a Walnut Tree which is 560 years old. Then you’ll head to Yulong Kashgar River to have an experience of touching jade in the river.
Hetian – Kashi (B/L/D)
After breakfast, you’ll visit Three treasures of Hetian (silk, carpet and Jade) Then you’ll take a coach to Kashi, the biggest city in Southern Tian Shan. Kashi is a neighbour of Pakistan, Afghanistan, India and Kyrgyzstan.
Id Kah Mosque: Largest Mosque in China built in ca.1442 by Saqsiz Mirza & may accommodate up to 20,000 at a time.
Today you’ll head to Carla Curry Lake. You can watch the Pamir Mountains here. It is a mountain range in Central Asia formed by the junction or knot of the Himalayas, Tian Shan, Karakoram, Kunlun, and Hindu Kush ranges. They are among the world’s highest mountains and since Victorian times they have been known as the “Roof of the World”.
After breakfast, you’ll visit the Abakh Khoja Tomb, the tomb of Xiang imperial concubine. Resembling an imposing and luxuriant palace, tomb of Xiang imperial concubine is 40 meters high and composed of five parts namely arch over gateway, small mosque, big mosque, religious scripture preaching hall and host coffin chamber.Free and leisure timing before your flight back to Singapore.
