This evening, you will assemble at Singapore Changi International Airport for your flight to the Capital of Bulgaria – Sofia.
Welcome to Sofia – Capital and the largest city of Bulgaria. Upon arrival, we shall transfer to the hotel for a rest before we proceed for our dinner in the evening.
This morning after breakfast,, we shall enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of the city center, including visit to Alexander Nevski Cathedral – one of the largest Eastern Orthodox cathedrals in Europe, as well as one of Sofia’s symbols and a primary tourist attraction; St. George Rotunda, St. Sophia Church, built by the Roman Emperor Justinian in the 6th century, National Theatre, former Royal Palace, today housing the National Revival Art Gallery and the Ethnographic Museum.
This morning, we shall depart from Veliko Tarnovo to Rozova dolina (Rose Valley). Be amazed by the beautiful roses landscape before we continue our journey to Bucharest. Upon arrival, enjoy a hearty dinner before we retire for the night.
This morning our sightseeing tour will bring us to the largest building in Europe – Palace of Parliament, The Triumphal Arch, Revolution Square, Stavropoleos Church and the Old Centre. Thereafter, continue our journey to Brasov. This afternoon, view and enter the Bran Castle, also known as Dracula Castle which was built in 1377 and inhabited by Vlad the Impaler.
Let us begin our day with a sightseeing tour of beautiful Brasov city surrounded by Carpathian mountains. We will visit the main city square (Piata Sfatului) and Black Church that got its name after a fire has blackened its walls in 1689. We will continue our exploration of Transylvania region by driving towards Sighisoara a UNESCO World Heritage landmark for being the last medieval city to be inhabited up to this day. After that, we will continue driving to Sibiu – a city which was the European Capital of Culture in 2007 for its architecture.
This morning we will enjoy a guided tour of Sibiu city, with buildings dating back to 12th century. Admire beautiful medieval buildings, where passionate young lovers meet at Bridge of Lies, the 1st wrought iron bridge in Romania, built in 1859. We will have lunch and we will drive to Timisoara, the city where the Romanian Revolution started on December 16th, 1989. Within one week, the Communist leader Nicolae Ceausescu who was in power for 25 years was overthrown. Democracy was reinstalled and reforms have started. For almost 24 years, Romania is fully a democratic country and member of European Union since 2007.
Today, we will drive down to the Capital city of Serbia – Belgrade. Upon arrival, our sightseeing in Belgrade covers its main pedestrian streets – Knez Mihailova Street, Skadarska street, Srpskih Vladara street and Republic Square. Visiting the Kalemegdan and Belgrade Fortress, once important military fortification, the Temple of Saint Sava, Serbian Largest Orthodox Temple.
Depart Serbia for Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Along the way, you may want to consider an excursion to Mostar. Sarajevo is surrounded by the Dinaric Alps and bisected by the Miljacka River. You will embark on a walking tour of this city, explore the old town.
Today, we will drive to Dubrovnik. Upon arrival, we will enter into the old town which is traffic free. We’ll see the Rector’s Palace, the City Walls, Onofrio’s fountain and the Franciscan & Dominican Monasteries, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Dubrovnik and its five bastions are sure to cast a spell on you.
We drive through the Dalmatian costal route from Dubrovnik to Split. Founded by the Emperor Diocletian in AD 305 when he built a palace for his retirement and as the palace grew, so did the city. We will enjoy an in depth sightseeing tour of this gracious city by the sea.
We will visit Diocletian’s Palace – a well preserved fortress that was once encircled by 750 foot walls. Highlights include remains of the original palace, a Colonnaded Square and the Temple of Jupiter.
This morning, we shall continue our journey to the Capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana. The city of Ljubljana is famous for its diverse architecture, including legacies of the Roman. Baroque and Art Nouveau eras, but owes much of its grand style to native born architecture Joze Plecnik, whose vision early in the 20th century transformed hs provincial hometown into the capital of the Slovenian nation. We shall enter the old town to view the Opera House, Cathedral, National Museum and Castle.
We’re bidding farewell to Ljubljana this morning and we head towards the beautiful Lake Bled between the mountains and then we continue to Zagreb. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided tour of Croatia’s capital including Roosevelt Square, the beautiful facades of Ban Josip Jelacic Square and the medieval upper town, the Presidential Palace, Stone Gate and Pope’s Tower. After that, have a hearty dinner before we retire for the day.
Free at leisure till transfer to Zagreb International Airport for your flight back home.
