English Itinerary

Day 1SINGAPORE - MOSCOW

Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport for your flight to St Petersburg.

Day 2MOSCOW

(Dinner)
Welcome to Moscow. Upon arrival, we shall start our sightseeing tour with a visit to the Red Square. There, in the centre of a large cobbler square stands the Lenin Mausoleum, the symbol of communist reign. Nearby are the St Basil’s Cathedral, Historical Musuem and the GUM departmental store. Next, our main highlights for the day is the Kremlin which is Moscow’s central architectural ensemble, the heart of Russia and symbol of greatness. It is situated on the high bank of the Moscow River at the mouth of the Neglinnaya. Built by Italian architects, Marco Ruffo, Antonio Gilardi, Pietro Antonio and Alvision Antonio Solario. The Kremlin Wall was completed in 1495. The fortress walls have an overall length of 2,235 meters long, 20 meters high and 6 meters wide in some places. Savor the three famous Kremlin Cathedrals – Cathedral of Assumption, Annunciation and Archangel. Round off the tour with an outside view of the Church of Deposition of the Robe, the Belfry of Ivan the Great and the Patriarch’s Palace.

Day 3MOSCOW

Our highlight for today is the famous Moscow Metro Station. These Metro Stations often known as the “Underground” palaces of Moscow is one of the most interesting attraction. The interiors of the metro stations exhibit almost royal splendors. The magnificient festive looking halls and vestibules are adorned with sculptures, bas-reliefs, mosaics, paintings, stained glass panels and mural executed by artist. The Moscow Underground was designed and built by eminient Soviet architects who aimed not only at utility and comfort. Each station is also given an unique look. Thereafter, we shall visit the famous Arbat Street. It was here in 1611 that fierce fighting went on against the police force thrusting against the Kremlin. The troops commanded by Dmity Pozharsky stood here and Napoleon’s troops were retreating to Moscow by this street. This is also the street where Alexander Pushkin and his beautiful young wife once lived. Today, it is a busy street where the two sides of the street are flanked with architectural structures from the 19th Century. We round off the day with a Moscow Circus Performance

Day 4MOSCOW - ST PETERSBURG

Today, transfer to the railway station to board your second class day train to St Petersburg. Welcome to St Petersburg which was formally the Capital of Russia and widely regarded as the Venice of the North. Founded by Czar Peter the Great, St Petersburg is a city of architectural ensembles. With its necklace of palaces along the quiet canals and the gracious Neva River, St Petersburg is a unique harmonious combination of nature and creative inspiration of architects. Our city tour today brings us to the Peter and Paul Fortress followed by the magnificient St Issac’s Cathedral, St Petersburg University and the Church of Our Saviours on the Spilled Blood, the Admiralty and the Nevsky Prospekt. After lunch, take an excursion to the majestic Petrodvorets Summer Palace outside St Petersburg. Once known as Petershof, it was the summer residence of the Czars and is world famous for its golden Grand Cascade – a steep fall of 64 gilded fountains flowing in front of the Grand Palace (the fountains may not operate during winter and or maintainance periods).

Day 5ST PETERSBURG

This morning, we shall visit the splendid Winter Palace to see the priceless collection of the Hermitage. The overwhelming richness of the museum is enhanced by the incredible splendors of these buildings. The ornate and regal facades, hugh frescoed halls, marbles, wood and mosaic floor statues, figurines and antique furniture really fascinates every visitor! Not to mention that it also houses a large collection of masterpieces by great masters such as Leonardo Da Vinci. After lunch, free at own leisure for some souvenir shopping or more photo taking till time to settle down for our dinner.

Day 6ST PETERSBURG - ISTANBUL

Today, transfer to the Airport and get ready for the flight to Istanbul.

Day 7ISTANBUL - CAPPADOCIA

( Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner )
Upon arrival, continue to the next flight to Cappadocia. visit Underground City of Kaymakli, once a place of refuge for 15,000 Christians, witness their ancient bedrooms, church, meeting hall and food storage rooms all within this eight-storey city connected by 30km of corridors and passageways. Next, do not miss this rare opportunity to experience the beauty and work of local hand-made crafts through a Turkish carpet weaving course. Thereafter, make a visit to the fascinating frescoed rock churches and chapels at Goreme Open-Air Museum, to explore the unusual troglodyte dwellings, remains of the early churches comprising of complicated rooms hollowed out of the cones of volcanic ash and decorated with scratched frescoes. Photo-stops will be made at Uchisar “castle” village, a fantasyland of strange and wonderful works of man and nature. Then, proceed to their local Cave House and Avanos Pottery Village, set on the banks of the Kizilimak (Red River). After dinner, a fascinating Belly Dancing and Folkdance performances awaits you.

Day 8CAPADOCCIA - KONYA - PAMUKKALE

Today, visit the museum of 13th century Philosopher Melvana Celaleddin-i Rumi, which used to be the cloister for Mevlevi Dervishes. Mevlana was a philosopher and mystic of Islam, but not a Muslim of the orthodox type. His doctrine advocates unlimited tolerance, positive reasoning, goodness, charity and awareness through love. To him and to his disciples all religious are more or less truth. Looking with the same eye on Muslim, Jew and Christian alike, his peaceful and tolerant teaching has appealed to men of all sects and creeds.

Day 9PAMUKKALE - KUSADASI

(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
After breakfast, we shall start our Pamukkale tour(Cotton Castle), visit the extensive ruins of Hierapolis & Necropolis – known for its thermal baths and health centre. Thereafter, see “Cotton Castle” or Pamukkale’s magical and unique terraces & castles created by deposits of white limestone from thermal springs. Next, transfer to Kusadasi. Visit the House of Virgin Mary, where she is believed to have spent her last years. Next, we set off for Selcuk and explore Ephesus ancient city, one of the world’s most outstanding archaeological sites. Walk in its well-preserved marble streets to the Library of Celsius, the Odeon, Grand Theatre, Temple of Hadrian, Roman Bath etc.

Day 10KUSADASI - PERGAMON - CANAKKALE

(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to the ancient roman city of Pergamon, famous for the steepest theatre in Turkey, Trajan Temple, Atena Temple, Agora and Pergamon Palace. Thereafter, transfer to the ancient city of Troy and the infamous tourist attraction in Troy, of course, is the Trojan Horse. This is a replica wooden horse that was given to the Trojans by the Greek Army. Overnight at Canakkale.

Day 11CANAKKALE - ISTANBUL

This morning, visit Hippodrome (Sultanahmet Square) decorated by obelisks and monument brought in from Egypt. Visit Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmet 1 Mosque) is the masterwork of Otoman Turkish architecture. Visit the magnificent St. Sofia Museum, which has been a cathedral under Roman Constantine and a mosque under the Turks. Visit Topkapi Palace – a museum palace filled with wide collections of porcelains, treasuries, religious collections. It is the first Great Imperial Palace of Ottoman Dynasty.

Day 12ISTANBUL - SINGAPORE

Free at leisure till we transfer to the Airport.
