Transfer to the Medieval resort town of Sirmione for a spectacular view of the Scaliger Castle by the lake before we make our way to the home of Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers. Here, we make a stop to admire the Roman arena and Juliet’s balcony before we retire for the day.
After breakfast, we shall bid farewell to Verona and contnue to Venice. Upon arrival, we shall start to savour the sights and sounds of this serene city on an included canal cruise by motor launch to St Mark’s Square, the Basilica, the pink and white marbled Doges Palace and the world renowned Bridge of Sighs. Lastly, we make a stop at one of the finest glass blowing factories where richly decorated Ventian glass is made to world class standard. Today, you may want to consider joining an optional gondola serenade along the canals with colourful houses.
After breakfast, we shall depart Venice as we drive towards Pisa with a visit to the incredible Leaning Tower – a must for every tourist. Thereafter, continue to drive towards the La Spezia for our overnight stay.
This morning, proceed on the highlight of our trip – Cinque Terre. Start the visit from Monterosso al Mare, the largest of the five villages and enjoy a gentle stroll along the fifth village of Cinque terre, Riomaggiore, a scenic coastal path to with romantic vistas over the Mediterranean Sea. Thereafter, continue to drive towards the staggering riches, Florence – a great city where Renaissance Art and Culture flourished for centuries. Enjoy a Florence walking tour with a stop at Piazzale Michelangelo for a superb view of Florence. Next, is the lofty Santa Maria Cathedral, then continue on to see the Doors of Paradise at the Baptistry of Giovanni, a matchless work of bronze which took 27 years to complete!bronze which took 27 years to complete!
Today, continue to drive towards Siena – most beautiful Medieval Village. A walking tour of the Historic Center – declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site. View the exterior fascade of the Duomo Cathedral and a photostop of the Piazza del Campo (scene of the famous Palio Horse Race) and the Palazzo del Comune before we retire for the day.
After breakfast, we shall leave Siena for the Capital city of Italy and the Eternal city – Rome. Upon arrival, we shall start our guided tour in Rome with a visit to the St Peter’s Basilica. From here, we cross the Tiber into ancient Rome as you travel along the Roman Forum where you see the mighty Colosseum (Entrance icluded) which was originally known as the Flavian Amphitheatre. The Colosseum was where ancient gladiators fought to entertain. Finally, our sightseeing ends with a visit to the Palatine Hill to see the Circus Maximus, the stadium that in Roman times was used for ‘Ben Hur’ style chariot racing.

This morning, we depart Rome as we continue on our journey to Naples via Pompeii. The city of Pompeii was an ancient Roman town-city near modern Naples in the Italian region of Campania, in the territory of the comune of Pompei. Pompeii, along with Herculaneum and many villas in the surrounding area, was mostly destroyed and buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. You might consider joining an Optional guided tour of the Pompeii Archaeological site at your own expenses. Thereafter, we shall continue to Napoli for for our overnight stay.T
This morning, we depart Napoli as we continue on our journey to Capri to embark on an excursion by ferry to the Isle of Capri where we will enjoy a walking tour of Capri Town and Gardens, leaving us some time on our own to explore this lovely island. Thereafter, we transfer back to Rome for our overnight stay.
